105 Miles

What’s that you say, what’s 105 miles? Well it’s how many miles I have on the car already. I guess I should let you know what I’ve been up to over the last month or so since the last post. To start off I was still building but it’s not as exciting as it sounds, what I was building was paperwork. The paperwork that I need to get her registered.   I did take care of a few more things while I was working on the paper work and waiting on my appointment with the Colorado State Patrol for the certified VIN inspection. First up I finished the center console. Covered it with a piece of leather and padding, added the cup holders and then installed it. I also mounted the fire extinguisher. Cause you gotta have a fire extinguisher, cause...

TaDa…

Checklist complete…..   Garage Empty? Can only mean one thing… I’ve been robbed. Nope, she’s done. Well done enough to start the registration process. Still a few minor details, like the center console and then a major detail like bodywork and paint. But for now, she’s done enough and roadworthy to start the registration process. Enjoy the pics. I get to see this every morning when I head off to work. Can’t wait till I get it registered.

Finally an Update!

Finally an Update!

First off I hope everyone had a great 4th of July. So regular readers might recall a post from last year entitled “Something a Little Different” well it was sorta that time of year again and hence I haven’t been in the garage for a couple of weeks. Fear not though, with this 3 day holiday weekend I got to spend quite a bit of time with the car and she’s getting really close to being ready for registration. I was hoping to knock it all out this weekend but didn’t quite make it. But first what was I doing if I wasn’t out wrenching on the car. Well you might recall we also like to take our Land Rover out and do some off roading. So a couple of weekends back we headed out to Moab for 3 days of trail leader training with the...

PIPES GLORIOUS PIPES!

PIPES GLORIOUS PIPES!

Before I get to the pipes first I got the headlights installed this week. It’s quite a few pieces and steps that make up the headlights and then throw in the additional wiring. First there’s the hole you have to cut. The 2 larger outer holes position the headlight bucket. Next step is mounting the headlight bucket. Here it is mounted. It already comes with the headlight connector installed but the other end doesn’t have a connector. That’s what I spent the rest of the weekend finishing off was the headlight, front marker and tail light connections. It should have been a simple connector install. But for some reason Factory Five decided one connector per corner was all that’s needed. That  would be great if you never planned on...

2 Updates in one weekend?!

2 Updates in one weekend?!

Wow what a treat 2 updates in the same weekend. One might wonder what’s going on. Well it is Memorial Day weekend so first off, thanks to all those who served and made the ultimate sacrifice, thanks to all those who served before me, served with me and those who are currently serving. And with the 3 day weekend there was a lot of progress on continuing to knock out all the little things leading up to a big thing.  When we last left off I had just finished fitting the roll bars and the rear body mount bolts. With those out the way it was onto cutting the carpet for the trunk. The kit doesn’t come with carpet for the trunk so I bought some carpet and had to custom fit each piece. This was easier done now then when the body is on as it’s far more...
