Time for a selfie!
Well it’s been just over a month since my last post. What’s been happening with the car since then, not much. Just waiting on the state to get back to me. After a month passing with no word I finally got tired of waiting and called them last week Wednesday with the hope of finding out some sort of status on the VIN. I should have called sooner. Imagine my surprise when they were helpful and told me the VIN had been issued on the 23rd of September and the trooper had picked it up on the 26th. They were surprised he hand’t contacted me yet but were nice enough to give me his number. So I called him up and he said “Yep got it right here. The next appointment is on the 28th of Oct or this Saturday being the 18th, which one would you like?” Well I took the earliest appointment and headed on down there last Saturday and got me my VIN. While excited to get the VIN the trooper was nice enough to pick the spot for it without my input and then proceeded to mount it crooked. Gee Thanks!
With that done all that was left was the final registration and I got that taken care of today. Here’s the selfie I promised. Yeah it’s a little blurry but hey what I can say I was still shaking with excitement. 😉
So what’s next? Well there’s a custom plate that’s being ordered, you’ll have to wait to see that one and then very soon it’s off to California for bodywork and paint. That will probably take 8-10 weeks to complete so it might be awhile before the next update. In the meantime I’ve got a pile of honey do’s to take care of and a small transmission leak and clutch adjustment.
Oh and we’ve started thinking about what the next build will be. Here are the current candidates. Love to hear everyones thoughts.
The first 2 are also Factory Five Kits.
The Type 65 Coupe
The ’33 Hot Rod
The GT40
Let me know what you think. Like I said these are the current candidates but that could change. Whatever it is, I expect it to take longer to build than the Cobra, simply because during the summer we will busy driving the Cobra versus building.
Even without paint it looks pretty sweet. Gonna get as much driving in as possible before the cold hits and it’s off to Cali. See Ya!
Not sure if you got my last comment but great job! Can’t wait to go for a ride! Would worry about the crooked VIN plate…..go enjoy! 33 rod and GT40 get my vote!
GT40! With the Gulf Racing motif.
Cobra for summer and GT40 for winter. (summer/winter)
Great job and looks excellent! Happy for you and the VIN with all legal, now you can enjoy! I look forward to seeing paint job and hopefully catching a ride some day soon. My first place vote would be the Type 65 Coupe, but the GT40 is close second IMHO.
Enjoy!
Looks great, Randy! My vote is for GT40!
Congratulations and nice work. I like the look of the ’33 but since you already have a vehicle with no roof the GT40 gets my vote.
Time to build a airplane!!
