Missed it by that much.

$3.50 to be exact. So after going back and forth to the DMV I finally left the paperwork with them and got a promised call back for the next step. I waited. And color me surprised I actually got a call back from DMV saying they now knew what to do and they would be forwarding the paperwork to the state. So more waiting. And then on Friday we got a package from the State Revenue office, our excitement was short lived. In it was all my paperwork and a nice rejection letter. I got everything right except for the $3.50 required fee.

DMV Rejection-0001

Closer examination of the VIN form shows they actually filled it out with all the proper info and then had to white it out because of the missing fee that DMV didn’t tell me I needed to pay. Oh well, so we wrote the $3.50 check and returned all the paperwork for round 2.

Stay tuned.

Government beuracracy is a true force to be reconned with. A simple phone call from the DMV instead of wasting their time and yours. It cost more in paper, printing and handling than the $3.50 fee. Good luck on the next cycle…can we say “Road Trip!”
